Position: Contract - Overnight Home Support Worker, Two Positions Available
St. Clair West Services for Seniors is a non-profit, charitable organization which provides valuable, innovative, and caring support services to older and/or disabled adults who wish to maintain their quality of life while living in their own homes. We provide a range of services, including Adult Day Services, Case Management, Homemaking, Meals on Wheels, Respite Care, Supportive Housing and Transportation. St. Clair West Services for Seniors is seeking applicants for the contract position of Overnight Home Support Worker. Hourly rate for the position is $15.34 per hour. Hours of work will be 9:45 pm – 7:15 am daily. Shifts will be scheduled Monday – Sunday. Full time hours can be obtained in 3-4 shifts. This position is contract for the first six months with the intent to become permanent position within the organization.Job Summary: The Overnight Home Support Worker provides overnight support to 5 supportive housing buildings.
Primary duties include: · Responding to client calls from 5 supportive housing sites between the hours of 9:45 pm and 7:15 am Monday - Sunday. · Responding to client need for EMS service or other interventions overnight. · Assist clients in their homes with personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting , incontinence care, ambulation and client repositioning on a scheduled and unscheduled basis · Traveling between 5 supportive housing buildings as needed to respond to emergency calls and unscheduled client visits using own vehicle. · Reporting clients’ behavioural changes, physical and safety hazards, task changes or other sources of concern to Manager of Home Support Services. · Other tasks will be assigned to this position depending on client schedule and call volume. These tasks may be of an administrative or housekeeping nature.
Qualifications: · Personal Support Worker Diploma or certificate with relevant experience · Eligible for enrolment in the PSW Registry · Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle · Good written and verbal English language skills · Knowledge and experience working with seniors, frail elderly, chronically ill, cognitively impaired, and/or disabled individuals living in the community · Available to work overnight shifts Monday to Sunday · CPR/ First Aid Certification and second language is an asset
