Celebrating Caregiving
A Call for Submissions
We all know PSW’s who go above and beyond to ensure the care and comfort of their clients, patients and residents. Here at PSNO we frequently hear stories from family, friends and colleagues that illustrate the care and compassion our PSW members show their clients. From almost-familial bonds between client and caregiver to simple stories of kindness and compassion, we hear it all.
PSNO is very excited to announce a new project called “Celebrating Caregiving”. This booklet will feature stories, letters and acknowledgements supporting and recognizing personal support workers. Booklets will be circulated to 2010 PSNO Conference Attendees.
But as much as we know these stories anecdotally, we need your help to document them! We’re asking for your submission of stories, photos, letters from clients and their families or any other acknowledgement that recognizes the outstanding work done by PSW’s, attendant care workers and homemakers. Please circulate this invitation to your staff, clients, and anyone else who would have a story celebrating a caregiver.
Selected stories will be printed in the first ever Celebrating Caregiving booklet. All submitters will be entered into a draw for a FREE registration to the 2010 PSNO Conference (October 18, 2010 in Markham, ON).
Submission Requirements:
Entries must be submitted through our on-line call for submission HERE, emailed to joni.brunton@psno.ca or faxed to 416-256-3021, attn: PSNO. Submission must be received by August 31, 2010
All entries must have permission from the authors for reprint in the booklet.
