I would like to know if as an agency, we have to register our agency name on the website?
Most of my staff of PSW's have already registered.
Thanks, Joyce MacDonald
Hi Joyce - Currently the names of the publicly funded home-care agencies are pre-populated on the site. In the first phase of the rollout of the Registry, these are the agencies that we are focusing on. The Registry is however open to all PSWs and those employed to provide personal support services. Employees of other agencies can register, but will need to manually type in the name of the agency. Please contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
I choose to register as a personal support worker, Graduate from Humber College

Could you please let me know if I'm register with PSW Registery Ontario, Thanks
Hi I just found out about the PSW registry..what does that mean for us? Money increase? Regulations? Are we like the college of nurses now? Do we have to pass an exam?
The registry is simply a tool which will hopefully allow us to track the workforce, education and professional development of PSW. There is no fee or exam. This is not a college or regulatory body. All the registry does is collect the data so that we, and ultimately the MOHLTC, has an accurate picture of the sector.
From the registry website:
"The Registry is a means by which PSWs can be identified and recognized for their contributions to the health care system.
The Registry assists employers in filling vacancies by allowing them to verify if an employee or prospective employee is registered. Clients and their families/caregivers are also able to verify such information.
The Registry helps the Government of Ontario plan to meet the current and future needs of Ontarians. The information it captures is invaluable to both health human resource planning and broader government policy planning."

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.
