Scott Sarginson is a PSW working in Forensic Mental Health at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Services. With his positive, playful yet professional attitude at work, Scott provides therapeutic relationships with his patients, who often continue to visit him at the hospital years after they have been discharged. Constantly thinking of new ways to improve day to day functioning of the unit, and more specifically the his role as a PSW on the unit, his methods of practice do not go unnoticed. Many of the PSWs, staff and management follow his lead when it comes to the how the role should operate. His experience in his role has helped shaped new policies and procedures during committee meetings, which have ultimately lead to an improvement in the organizational practices. Scott was nominated by Christina Simpson, a nurse colleague who says "Scott has taught me so much in my role as a nurse. He has become a co-worker I couldn't imagine working without, as well as a dear friend."
